Water Issues

We address common water concerns like bad odours, taste, calcium, iron, manganese, scale, and sediment. It requires tailored filtration solutions using various technologies to mitigate these problems, ensuring clean, safe water for various applications for diverse industries.

Bad Odours

Unpleasant odours in water can result from the presence of organic matter, algae, or certain bacteria. Activated carbon filters effectively adsorb and remove odour-causing compounds. They’re commonly used in potable water treatment for homes, offices, and public spaces. Healthcare environments such as Renal Dialysis and Central Sterilisation Supple Departments (CSSD) require them. And they find applications in process water treatment for industrial facilities, removing unpleasant smells and improving water quality.

Bad Taste

Unpleasant taste often stems from dissolved minerals, chlorine, or organic substances in water. Activated Carbon filters is most widely used in combating taste issues and can be used in conjunction with reverse osmosis systems to target these contaminants and eliminate bad taste. Used in mains inlet and potable water systems, these technologies enhance taste by removing impurities and contaminants, providing clean water. And they’re also used in medical applications such as renal dialysis and CSSD.

Calcium / Magnesium (water hardness)

Elevated calcium and magnesium levels, leading to hard water, arise from dissolved minerals in water. Water softeners, utilizing ion exchange resins, address calcium and magnesium-related issues. Found in water supplies derived from underground sources or in surface water that has been in contact with calcium and magnesium bearing strata, these technologies prevent scale buildup, protecting appliances and plumbing fixtures and additional items of water treatment such as reverse osmosis from damage caused by hard water. In some applications, a Sequestrant can be dosed in the water stream instead of a water softener to protect specific items of equipment. Applications include mains inlet and healthcare in CSSD and Renal Dialysis.

Iron

Iron in water typically originates from ground water and other natural sources or corroded pipes. Iron removal filters, such as DMI65 media filters, effectively remove iron. Used in potable water treatment for homes, process water treatment in industries and CSSD and Renal dialysis in Healthcare. These filters prevent staining and improve water quality by eliminating iron content.

Manganese

Manganese contamination often results from natural geological sources. Often found in conjunction with iron, manganese can be treated also with DMI65 filters. These are used in potable water systems for buildings, CSSD and Renal Dialysis in healthcare, and in process water treatment for industries, addressing manganese issues and ensuring water quality meets desired standards.

Scale

Scale formation is the accumulation of hardness minerals like calcium and magnesium. Water softeners are key in preventing scale formation. Applied in mains inlet and potable cold water systems, process water treatment for industries, and in CSSD and Renal Dialysis for Healthcare. These devices eliminate hardness minerals, protecting plumbing and equipment from scale buildup.

Sediment

Sediment in water is commonly caused by soil erosion, organic matter, or debris. Sediment filters, including sand, sand replacement media or screen type filters, capture and remove these particles. Used in water supplies with elevated turbidity, rainwater harvesting, process water treatment, and in pre-treatment for reverse osmosis systems. including medical applications such as renal dialysis and CSSD water supplies these filters ensure water purity by capturing suspended solids and preventing clogging in systems.
