Background
Southland Filtration has been collaborating with a regional water authority, Hunter Water, to deliver remote NSW water solutions for off-the-grid locations.
Objectives
The primary goal was to provide fully treated water supplies to rural properties, ensuring clean and safe water through comprehensive treatment processes.
Challenges
Rural and off-the-grid locations posed unique challenges, including the need for reliable and effective water treatment systems that can operate independently without access to centralised water supplies.
Solution
The implemented systems included multiple treatment stages:
- Pressure Pump – Ensures consistent water flow.
- Coarse and Fine Sediment Filtration – Removes larger particles and fine sediments.
- Taste and Odour Reduction – Enhances the water’s palatability.
- Validated UV Disinfection – Ensures the elimination of harmful microorganisms.
- Central PLC with Remote Monitoring – Provides automated control and remote supervision capabilities.
Each system is housed in a heavy-duty, soundproof enclosure, powder-coated in the client’s choice of colour to blend seamlessly with its surroundings.
Outcome
The deployed systems have successfully delivered fully treated water to rural properties, meeting the desired standards of water quality and reliability. The soundproof enclosures ensure minimal noise disruption, while the customizable appearance enhances aesthetic appeal.
In Summary
Southland Filtration’s collaboration with a regional water authority has resulted in effective remote NSW water solutions. These point-of-entry water treatment systems for off-the-grid locations provide comprehensive water treatment, robust operation, and aesthetic flexibility, ensuring safe and appealing water supplies for rural properties.
