The Royal Hobart Hospital (RHH) has existed on its current site for nearly 200 years. The recent RHH Redevelopment Project was the largest ever health infrastructure project in Tasmania, transforming the site into a state-of-the-art trauma, teaching and referral facility.

Southland Filtration Pty Ltd were engaged to design and supply a purified water system to deliver compliant water to the new sterilisation department (CSSD), specifically final rinse cycles in accordance with AS/NZS 4187:2014 for reprocessing of RMDs (Reusable Medical Devices).

After successful commissioning, a training program was conducted to educate maintenance teams and sterilising operators on the operation and functionality of the plant.

A preventative maintenance program, including regular water testing, has also been implemented to ensure water quality and quantity requirements are met, and department down-time risk is minimised.
