Southland Filtration Pty Ltd was approached by NSW Health to design and supply a Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system for the Endoscopy Dept at the South East Regional Hospital, Bega.
After an extended period of operating the Department with filtered town water via a series of cartridge filters, an unexpected contamination of the town water supply resulted in the hospital not meeting Table 7.3 of AS/NZS 4187:2014 Amendment No. 2.
The project objective – to ensure long-term compliance.
Resolving micro-biological non-compliance is a challenge on its own, but added to that, were two additional process challenges – 1) micro-biologically compliant water produced at 35°C temperature, the optimum temperature for biological activity, and 2) water conductivity produced within limits required by the endoscopy reprocessors.
Through process chemistry experience and a passion for delivering long-term compliance, our team designed and installed a unique solution that met and exceeded the client’s expectation. The facility can now boast over 18 months of Table 7.3 compliance following the installation of our EndoTherm RO water system.
