CSSD & Endoscopy
Infection control
The cause of patient infection or death is often related to inadequate infection control. The quality of water used to clean Reusable Medical Devices plays a critical role in the prevention of patient infection – both microbial and chemical qualities.
Microbial purity can’t be consistently achieved with chemically impure water. If nutrients such as Ammonia, Calcium, Phosphate and Iron are present in water it encourages bacteria proliferation. These nutrients also cause staining and spotting on RMD’s where bacteria can harbour.
Every link in the decontamination ‘chain’ must be secure – from chemical purification to proactive and proven disinfection procedures for traceability. Achieving and maintaining water quality compliance is critical in the delivery of good patient care.
A well designed and maintained purified water plant not only controls the spread of hospital acquired infection but also assist in reducing reprocessing times, which in turn reduces surgery waiting time.
Setting the water standard
Supporting the delivery of positive patient outcomes, we design, build and maintain water treatment solutions that consistently meet AS4187 compliance.
Engineered specifically for the healthcare sector, our systems are tailored to suit each site. We take into careful consideration the entire project scope from feedwater quality and the
number of user points, to their respective water requirements and preventative measures required for long-term compliance.
We use automated disinfection processes that are proven & tested for the control of bacteria and biofilm. We implement critical design protocols that guarantee chemical & microbial compliance for the life of the plant.
Renal Dialysis
Contamination Control
With therapy outcomes centred around an improved quality of life for people undergoing Haemodialysis, we understand that every stage in the water purification process matters.
As Haemodialysis patients are exposed to in excess of 360 litres of water per week, contaminated water poses serious risks to their health & wellbeing.
Disconnection from any part of the decontamination chain can lead to a diminishing quality of life for all patients with chronic kidney failure. We take special care in providing a tailored
solution specific for each hospital or renal clinic from the building’s point of entry through to each dialysis machine.
Purified Water
Our purified water solutions incorporate a minimum two stage filtration with thermal disinfection for the control of chemical and microbial contaminants.
We understand that water recovery via the purification plant should not be compromised by the level of water purity. For this reason, the HercoPur RO System* we use incorporates a three-way reduction of water consumption thanks to demand-based control, recirculation of concentrate and the adjustment of concentrate for maximum utilisation, delivering up to 50% reduction in water consumption than traditionally designed RO systems. Typically, greater than 75% water recovery is guaranteed.
*The HercoPur RO water purification system is entered in the Australian Regulatory Therapeutic Goods (302501)
